By the chain of your lives -
Near to Earth and far from Earth –
Always blessed, above your head,
Your angel holds your star.
Go through horror, misery and shame.
Walk without any hope.
Even in the deepest darkness
Flames the light that was forever.
Under thorns, under roses,
Unperturbed since the first beginning
The original everlasting “I am”
Shines above your soul.
Each night you can see it.
Fresh on each new day
The beat of your angel’s wings
Moves you purifying and atoning.
And when once the hour of death
Will free the true core of your nature,
Your angel carries your star
Back to the eternal home.

I have nothing in particular to critique in this work. Its well written, it portrays the concept of an angel well, the language suits the archaic nature of the work, and overall, the essence of this poem is heartfelt. Overall, its a good poem, and a job well done.
