Literature Text

It is autumn now and cold winds whistle.
The leaves on the trees are already coloured.
Soon, summer dreams walk in November gowns
And veils of mist cover meadow land.

At night, a host of stars looks down on tired souls.
They sparkle brightly in the dark clouded sky.
When sun rays steal the daybreak,
Often frost will already come along with them.

The cornfield in the valley is already cut.
It was transformed into gold by autumn's hand.
Then, when winter strides through the vast land,
He will pay the time with his white tribute.

Now, the harvest in the gardens is fully ripe.
Its seeds were already sown in March
And God's hands quietly nurtured the steady growth,
Early in the morning through to the late evening.

The dark cellar will be filled with many things:
Vegetables, fruit, potatoes - big and small.
When mother's caring hands fill empty plates,
We will be grateful for these gifts we have.

How wonderful sheltered with good grace
Is the great world in the change of time!
And when we walk through it on paths of God's love,
His blessing will always be in store for us.

Beautiful imagery, especially the last line of the first stanza.
