Soul-Fire

My grief comes from the shadows
Where the nightmares are at home.
I cry in my sleep,
Bleeding deep inside me.

Everything is pitch black
Pain, anxiety, and transience,
My life tree sweats resin -
From his wounds drips understanding.

Deep down in the shade
The longing for light grows!
What we once had -
We did not know it!

In losing is finding
In the dark, the light-
Only when we connect both,
Hope does not die!

See how the soul-fire
Breaks through the darkness -
And again a new
Star brings us light.

You and me we are the fire,
You and I we were a child,
And also our soul-fire
Burns dancing in the wind.
