Literature Text
Now very old oaks keep
Lonely their guard.
They whispered a nightly lullaby
When I was a child.
They have been feeling my joy
And sharing my sorrow
They have known my laughter
And my light step …
They are driven hard by the wind
But they guard this place.
I am always drawn to
The beloved trees.
Here I find my peace again,
Here I find my rest!
I still hear their songs,
May they be kept alive for long,
The good oaks mine.
They will stay dear friends
Till my end of time.
Oaks, oaks take me home to you,
Oaks, oaks bring me home.
Lonely their guard.
They whispered a nightly lullaby
When I was a child.
They have been feeling my joy
And sharing my sorrow
They have known my laughter
And my light step …
They are driven hard by the wind
But they guard this place.
I am always drawn to
The beloved trees.
Here I find my peace again,
Here I find my rest!
I still hear their songs,
May they be kept alive for long,
The good oaks mine.
They will stay dear friends
Till my end of time.
Oaks, oaks take me home to you,
Oaks, oaks bring me home.
