Black Bird of Winter NightSnow-covered are the fir-trees,
Breaking under the weight.
Fogs are spinning and spreading
Along paths and ravines.

Snowflakes fall softly like in a dream -
I wander silent through the limitless space.
And far away, world and time sink with me
Into the great white solitude.

In the evening, smooth dark wings
Spread gently blessing
Over all hills and forests
The comforting night.

Black bird of night,
My glance strikes you.
Far, immense far,
You are flying and you never come back.

Time stands still when I see you.
Gently the clouds pass by.
When day goes to rest
Then I want to flee with you.

Away, lost in the night,
Accompan
Samhain
November Eve -
Summer is turning,
Darkness touches the day,
Puts on her black glove.
Gone the times of abundance.
Cold covers the land,
Nature dies,
Prepares the rebirth in spring.

Let us kindle the fires,
Dance and celebrate.
When the veils between the worlds open,
The dead will walk freely among us in this night
And the gods pay tribute
To fertility for a last time.

Let us draw the circle,
From outside walking inwards,
Rest, abide,
Break bread, empty the cup,
Ask for guidance and cognition,
Visualize the own mortality
And prepare for the new outer existence.
Woodland BirthIn the starlight I walked along, loaded with thoughts.
Over the dark forest the dew sank soon.
The morning was still far.
I could hear the noises from the distant village.

Deep into the forest I was roaming underneath the starry sky.
I followed a path like velvet and moss, took off my shoes.
The breath like a foggy breeze, like fire without smoke.
My blood pulsated in my veins.

Silent world seized me –
My language faded,
And like on the first day – so easy, free and unequalled
I freed me from my self and became eternal.

The oak, so high, was reaching to the stars.
Higher and ever higher I climbed.
Mounted through space and time
Eyes in the ForestIn the wild wood, in the dark forest,
Beyond human eyes.
There lies the world under a magic spell,
The fog never evaporated.

The trees are tall and grey there,
They sway and lament.
Tales they whisper furtively
Of long forgotten elder days.

In mossy lichen and fern shrubs
Silently dance the elven folk.
They weave the veils of mist
And turn around in circles.

In the wild forest, at a dark place,
Hidden away from human hands.
There the old tale still lives,
Its secret never discovered.

Deep between stone and root work,
In a dark chamber,
A dwarf is forging with magic power,
Wields steadily his hammer.

And high up in dense branch entangleme
In Memory of Manu, a FriendI remember you.
Now approximately seven years have passed
And I still miss you painfully.
You were my age, not older.
Not very young anymore but much too young to die.

You have been a good friend to me in this short time
of about two years.
You shared with me your grief and your pain.
Everything what you had experienced.

I was there for you, day and night,
Whenever you needed someone to talk to.
No distance was too far.
I called you at any time.

If I could succeed,
I would make the birds sing for you,
Would bring you a candle,
Nearly I was at your home,
But I did not know where to find the cemetary and your grave.

Star Child in WinterCarefully, I step on the white dusted grass.
The frozen evening dew moistens me.
It is cold – I do not feel it.
Only the silence of the night is all around me.

My hair becomes entangled in an icy wind.
So that I fear to be blown away.
I reach out for the branch of a tree
To seek help and protection.

In front of me I can see the forest in awesome loftiness.
The trees welcome me.
Finally I arrive at the spot I am heading to –
The clearing – a spiritual place.

I stop in the middle of this circle –
Symbol of eternity, image of perfection.
I wait and only my breath can be heard.
Time seems to stand still.

Then, at last – the cloud
The velvety Dress of NightWhen night
Raises her velvety dress
And wraps me up
In merciful darkness
All my ways guide me
Back to myself.

Through the vale of despair
Lead my paths
To the forests of mourn -
Guide me to a lake
Fed from my tears.

The trees whisper of past times
Of happiness and sorrow,
Whisper with a voice of yearning
Of dreams and wishes.

The wind brings me tidings
Of those who left
Whose dreams haunt me
Every night.

Silent voices tell of ties
Knotted by magic power -
Inseparable.
Whisper questions
That move my heart.

When night
Raises her velvety dress
And wraps me up.
A Tale of Elves and Fairies
At a time, when humans still believed in faeries and elves, they possessed power. A power of which they were not conscious. They created what they thought and only by their will-power the fabulous creatures of their fantasies came to life. So it happened that the lonely dark woods were suddenly populated by gentle wood spirits. Delicate elves, dainty nymphs, graceful little fairies swinging themselves from branch to branch left sparkling stardust on their ways. The Birth of a New LightThe days are cold, the nights grow dark.
The garden has now turned grey.
The icy chill is freezing lake as well as bark.
The first snow has fallen earlier today.

The days are grey, the nights are long.
The garden has now turned white.
But from afar I hear a song
And see a wonderous light.

Up in the winter's dark night-skies
I see a bright new shining star
And in the air a great song lies.
The light seems not so far.

The night - it is the Christmas night -
It has come round now at last.
It turns all the darkness bright.
It gives the world a joyous sight.
It strikes for me a newborn light,
Embraces me with all its might

Winter Moon in the ForestDeeply imprisoned in white frost,
The winter forest lies covered with snow,
Tells of long gone times,
Lapsed into the distances of the forests.

The wind sings silently past melodies,
Sensible while fading away,
When I listen in the silence
And see through the cold.

White flakes are driven by the wind.
Trembling leaves are blown with snow dust.
And some kind of sadness
Is weeping crystals here and there.

And a chill lies in the air.
A snow that once was a bud
Is falling on Earth's soil.

In the bright shine of the full moon night
Filigree trees clad in black form
A lane along the edge of the forest,
Dream themselves into the s
Hymn to the MoonIn the hours of your brilliance
Dark soul's child is dying.
You cause new visions -
The sad eye becomes blind.

Moon, mirror of the sun in the darkness!

Kisses are easily shed
In your protective refuge.
Caressed by Venus' whisper
Prohibited barriers yield.

Moon, celestial crown!

Illuminator of the star map,
You show the way to the lost.
Those who seek shelter in the bright light
Cower at the wooden bridge.

Moon, watch-tower of deliverance!

Underneath your canopy
All earth-creatures are sleeping.
In your lap you gently rock
Germinating traces of life.

Moon, bearer of life,
Executor of time,
Galactical guardian!

FriendshipFriendship means to give,
But also to take -
Solidarity in joy and sorrow.

Friendship gives hope
And grants happiness as well -
It is assistance in times of loneliness.

Friendship must grow,
You have to cultivate it -
By frankness and honesty.

Friendship means to love
And to be loved -
It depends on mutuality.

Friendship demands
Understanding for the other -
Despite his weak points and fallability.

But on feelings -

The Old Oaken TreeI have sat in your shade and have been dreaming.
Often I have forgotten the time.
Into your bark I have sobbed.

Entreaties to Nature
You gave us the sun for our time
And we know that when it will sink forever
Also each life on this planet will be extinguished.
In vain were all hopes, plans
And their fulfilments.

Let our hearts love and not hate,
Let our hands do good whenever it is needed
So that they help and do not kill.

Let our transitory and often hard lifes
Find faith and support with your powers.
With that we put up resistance to
Injuries and afflictions and do not let us
Deviate from our good intentions.

When our lips express our thoughts
Let them always form words of truth and of good will.
And that nobody is harmed in his dignity and reputation

Elven Hope

I have a dream
Of another world
Where no-one resembles the other.
But where all are one
In a world of diversity
That plants every flower at the right spot.

I dream of a world
Where hate is unknown
Either among individuals or the great nations.
There is only the appreciation of the others' life
At all their places.

I dream of a great sign
That will re-unite in joy
All once scattered.
Brother will not be angry with brother anymore
And everybody understands
That living is now the new dimension.

I see a new world
Where shining light nets
Spread like a shield across the Earth
From east to west and from south to north.

I dream of a world
That has forgotten the old one
With all the insanity and fury -
In which all humans have been purified.
And chastened in real humility
They stand up and move forward.

In this world
True love will
Seize again the hearts of humanity.
Men and elves -
Together we will cure every wound
That we once stroke ourselves
and our world in limitless rage.

Hello, I am from :iconthecritiquables: with my critique on this piece.

"Elven hope". I like the way you have (after having read quite a few of your works) defined what elves and such creatures signify in your works. And I personally feel that is quite an achievement.

I loved the meaning behind this work. It is so well handled and there was this strange feeling of hope that I felt while reading this - it was as if I was imagining such a world for a moment and that rarely happens. Meaning, you portrayed a somewhat perfect world but it didn't seem absurd. It was apparent that you are wishing, hoping for it. That is what made it beautiful.

There was no technical aspect that I would discuss in this work. Over all a good job and a soothing work.

I do not often read english literature, because it's not my mother language.
But the title seemed to me very interesting...

Thanks for your comment. It isn't my native language either but I mostly write in English.

Everybody is important in the universe and has a task to fullfill to change the now into tomorrow. But everybody has also one or some personal special tasks. One of mine is to conwey messages and meanings in my works out of different reasons - to make people think, to give hope, to help, to make the unseen visible, the unbelievable believable :)
